Sustainability

New strategic direction with new management

Since February 2021, Herco GmbH has proclaimed a long-term strategic plan under the leadership of the new managing director Edwin Locker.

The "original german-Swabian" focus on the omnipresent topic of sustainability, the passion for water technology that has always existed and the trusting partnership-based cooperation with our customers are in even sharper focus. All this is part of our vision and will continue to drive Herco in the future.

Together with existing and new customers, we will open completely new markets that have not been in focus for the past 70 years. For example, Herco is engaged to green hydrogen.

Sustainability is an integral part of the corporate plan

Part of the long-term plan is to achieve CO2 neutrality for 2025 without additional costs for the customer by using modern technologies and participating in environmental projects.

To achieve this, we as Herco will invest in a photovoltaic system with heat recovery and use a heat pump to store the energy. Through this, we expect a self-sufficiency of well over 50%. In addition, we will participate in the reforestation of forests.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for the future of our blue planet

Herco sees the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as essential building blocks for the future of our blue planet. (Link to the UN website: https://unric.org/en/united-nations-sustainable-development-goals/)

For example, Goal 6 formulates: "Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all".

Herco Wassertechnik GmbH has always strived to provide water of the quality that local people need without burdening natural resources.

In addition, Herco is participating this year in a donation project for Peru. There, the technology and knowledge of Herco and other partners is being used to produce clean drinking water from contaminated groundwater. Herco also sees this as a contribution to the international efforts to shape the future of our blue planet. Goal 7 of the United Nations is: "Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all". And Goal 13 is defined as: "Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts".

Herco will also support these two goals with full conviction and thus help shape the future of our blue planet.
